The Sources tab shows how citation share is distributed between your brand, competitors, and third-party sources. It also helps you understand which source categories and page types influence AI-generated responses.

Dashboard Filters

Use the filters at the top of the page to focus your analysis:
  • Date range: Select the period you want to analyze.
  • Models: Compare all AI models or select a specific platform.
  • Countries: Focus on citations from selected countries.
  • Topics: Analyze citations for specific prompt groups.
  • Personas: See which sources are used for different audiences.
  • Active / All: Include only active prompts or all available prompts. When All is activated, all prompts that are active and all archived prompts from the past will be included.
All sections update based on your selected filters.

Domain Performance

Domain Performance shows how your brand’s sources share changes over time. Brand Sources Domain Performance Widget The chart displays your brand domain share. The summary compares citations across three groups:
  • Your Brand: Citations from your own domain.
  • Competitors: Citations from tracked competitor domains.
  • Third Party: Citations from independent external domains.
The Share represents the percentage of all citations belonging to each group. Total shows the corresponding number of citations. Use this section to understand whether AI models rely primarily on your own content, competitor websites, or third-party sources.

Domain Categories & URL Types

Domain Categories groups third-party citations by the type of website they come from. Categories can include:
  • Review and rating platforms
  • Forums and communities
  • Social media
  • News and media
  • Wikis and reference websites
  • Corporate and business websites
  • E-commerce and marketplaces
This helps you understand which types of external sources influence answers in your market. For example, a high share of review platforms may indicate that AI models rely strongly on comparison and customer-review content when answering your prompts. URL Types groups individual citations by page type rather than by domain category. Page types can include:
  • Reviews
  • Documentation
  • Blog posts
  • Forum threads
  • Product pages
  • Landing pages
  • FAQs and help pages
  • Social posts
This shows which content formats are most frequently cited and can help you identify opportunities for your own content strategy.

Domains and URLs

The citation table provides a detailed view of all cited sources. Switch between:
  • Domains: View the performance of complete websites.
  • URLs: View the individual pages cited by AI models.
Use the search field to find a specific domain or URL. The domain-type filter allows you to narrow the results by source category. You can also filter the table by:
  • All: Show every cited source.
  • You: Show citations from your own domain.
  • Competitors: Show citations from tracked competitor domains.
  • Third Party: Show citations from independent external sources.

Understanding the Citation Table

Each row provides additional information about a cited domain or URL:
  • Rank: The source’s position based on citation performance.
  • Domain: The website cited by the AI models.
  • Type: Whether the source belongs to your brand, a competitor, or a third party.
  • Category: The type of website or source.
  • Models: The AI models that cited the source.
  • Citations: The total number of detected citations.
  • Pages: The number of individual pages cited from the domain.
  • Share: The source’s percentage of all citations in the selected scope.
Expand a domain to inspect the individual pages associated with it.
